2025 – Inguinal hernia symptoms – Laparoscopic Hernia Surgery
In early 2025, I noticed a swollen lump on the lower right side of my abdomen. At first, I was concerned that it might be related to my right kidney, as I had never experienced anything like it before.
However, my doctor explained that kidney-related pain is usually felt in the back, around the flank area, rather than at the front of the body where my swelling was located. Based on the location of the lump, he felt it was unlikely to be a kidney problem and referred me to a urologist for further assessment.
During the consultation, the urologist examined the swelling and suspected that it was an inguinal hernia rather than a urinary tract or kidney condition. To confirm the diagnosis, he arranged for an ultrasound scan, which was scheduled for June 2025.
The ultrasound findings confirmed that I had an inguinal hernia. After discussing the treatment options and the potential risk of the hernia becoming larger or causing complications if left untreated, surgery was recommended. I subsequently underwent a laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair, a minimally invasive procedure performed through several small incisions. The operation was successful, and I was able to begin my recovery shortly afterwards.
Looking back, I learned that a lump in the groin or lower abdomen can easily be mistaken for other medical conditions. Seeking medical attention early and obtaining the correct diagnosis allowed me to receive timely treatment before the hernia became a more serious problem.

The three laporoscopic holes are sealed with super glue instead of staples, for easy removal later.

The super glue used to sealed the holes are slowly coming off by itself.
Only the laparoscopic hole at the belly button is still uncomfortable to touch.
